These terms govern your use of this website. In plain terms: this is an information and request-routing site operated by AIXIS LLC, a Vermont limited liability company. We are not the company that will climb, cut or grind anything on your property, and nothing on this site is a substitute for somebody standing in your yard looking at the tree.

What this site is, and what it is not

This site publishes general guidance about tree work in Vermont and takes requests for service. It is not a tree-care company, an arborist, an inspection service, an insurer or a public authority. Reading a page here does not create a professional relationship, and no page here has assessed your tree.

When you submit a request, it is passed to an independent tree-care company. That company — not us — is responsible for its assessment, its written estimate, its contract with you, its credentials, its insurance, the work it performs, its warranties and its customer service. Verify insurance and credentials with the company that will actually do the work, before it starts.

No diagnosis, and no guarantee of safety

No tree is risk-free, and no website can tell you whether a particular tree is safe. Decay is largely internal, conditions change, and weather does not consult anyone. Guidance here describes how these decisions are normally approached; it does not evaluate your tree, your soil, your targets or your weather. Only an on-site assessment by a qualified person can do that, and even that is a dated professional opinion rather than a certificate of safety.

Emergencies

Submitting a form on this website does not contact emergency services, your municipality or your electric utility, and nobody is watching the inbox around the clock. If people are in danger, call 911. If a tree or branch may be in contact with electrical equipment, stay away from it and contact the electric utility. If a public road is blocked, contact the road authority.

No promise about insurance, permits or timing

We do not promise that an insurer will cover a loss, that a claim will be approved, that a permit will be granted, that a particular municipal rule applies to your parcel, or that a crew will be available in a given timeframe. Those are decisions made by insurers, municipalities and the companies doing the work. Confirm them with the responsible party.

Pages that name other companies

Some pages discuss how to evaluate and compare tree-service companies operating in this region, and name them for identification. Those names and marks belong to their owners. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or a partner of any company named on this site, and naming a company is not a claim that we have any relationship with it. Those pages are about how to make the decision — what to verify, which legal entity signs, how to read a scope. For facts about any company, go to that company’s own website; details published by third parties go out of date and we do not present them as current.

If you own a business named on this site and something we have written about how to evaluate it is inaccurate, tell us through the contact form and we will correct or remove it.

Accuracy, sources and corrections

Municipal, invasive-species, excavation and safety statements are checked against first-party sources, and those sources are linked so you can verify them yourself. Rules, fees and guidance change without telling us. Where a page states something that affects a decision — a permit requirement, a restriction on moving ash wood, a notification obligation before digging — confirm the current position with the issuing authority for your property and your work date. Using this site

Do not submit false or unlawful information, misrepresent ownership of or authority over a property, submit requests on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge, attempt to disrupt or probe the site, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others, or use it to send unsolicited commercial messages. We may decline or delete any request, and may block access, without notice.

Content ownership

The text, structure, layout and original graphics on this site are ours and are protected by copyright. You may read, print and share pages for your own use, and quote a short passage with a link back. You may not republish substantial portions, or use the content to train or populate another service, without written permission. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their owners.

Links to other sites

We link to municipal, state, utility and safety resources because they are the authority on their own subject. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or availability, and a link is not an endorsement of anything else that site says.

Provided as-is

This website is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any request submitted through it will be answered.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AIXIS LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, property damage, personal injury or business interruption, arising out of your use of this website or of any guidance published on it. Our total liability arising from this website will not exceed one hundred United States dollars. Work performed on your property is the responsibility of the company that performs it, under its own contract with you. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, and in those places these limits apply only as far as the law permits.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify AIXIS LLC against claims arising from your misuse of this site, from information you submit that is false or that you had no authority to submit, or from your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Vermont, and you consent to that venue.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The review date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and the version in force is the one published here when you use the site. If a change is material, the sensible thing is to read the page again before submitting a request.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, that provision is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder stays in force.
